We have created mobile apps for customers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. Notable customers are the Hong Kong Football Association, Zushi Marina Yacht Club (Japan), Taiwan Kaohsiung Dragon Boat Association, and other global or regional sports events. Click here to see more of our customer cases.
Who we are, why we do what we do
Smartphones were invented 20 years ago. Mobile devices are now part of our lives. Yet, in a lot of areas, things are still done in pre-mobile ways. We exist to serve niche markets with easy-to-use and affordable mobile apps.
We believe big means inefficient and slow. We will remain small and agile, avoiding meaningless work, so that our team will have time for learning and creativity.
We work to create value for our customers. Many will be happy to pay a small fee for our apps, thereby sustaining our flexible work and life style, allowing us to create further value for our customers.
PikaPage was founded in Hong Kong in 2016 by Leroy Yue. Leroy was an avid sports lover. He decided to start a business to make sports experience better via mobile apps. Before PikaPage, Leroy was a corporate execute, with experience in different industries and different counties.
PikaPage has since launched a few apps, and have helped athletes in Hong Kong Taiwan and Japan better enjoy their sports.
In 2020, PikaPage Japan K.K. was incorporated in Fukuoka, Japan. Currently, the company is launching a new app called GroupTiv. We hope that we can use mobile technology to make communication more effective not only in sports, but also in non-sports situations.
We are constantly looking for passionate people to work together with us.
We are an international team of young* people in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam. We work online, and entirely remote, long before Covid-19. Most members work flexible hours - yes, we are a real tech company!
Some of our team are full-time staff, some are part-time. One colleague in Japan has 3 daughters to take care of, and can only work 4 hours a day, which is totally fine.
*The boss Leroy is a bit older, but he is still very young at heart. He sails and plays water polo regularly, and keeps learning new things everyday. Last year he learned to play blues guitar. This year he is learning to play pop piano and windsurfing.
How we do it
The founder has worked in very large companies, so he understands what bureaucracy means. He absolutely hates wasting other people's time with meaningless work. He has seen enough in large companies. He would prefer spending less time on tasks, and more time for play and family and friends.
We invest in innovation and learning, to make our tasks more effective and efficient.
Every week, we discuss (online) to decide what we need to achieve in the week, and what was the results of last week. Then we go off to work on our own. All of our staff work from home, or in a cafe, or on a beach. As long as there is internet connection.
We don't use paper
We use various online tools to track progress and share information. We don't use any paper.
When one colleague has an idea or a problem, we just go online to brainstorm.
